Who We Are

ABOUT US

CAPP was formed in 2008 when 3 partners who shared a like-minded philosophy, clubbed together as a cooperative and brought over their first container of high end pianos in 2009... The result was immediate success with the halving of the local cost of elite brands of piano such as Steinway, Bosendorfer, Bechstein, Bluthner etc.

‘For a number of years. I personally watched how people would subject themselves and their children to tired or mediocre quality instruments and not just pianos, on account of either cost or simply not understanding the differences. People often had little to compare with or the time to research. I watched, students of all ages, first hand, exceed in music and also, sadly, some who didn't do quite as well. The ones who seemed to struggle, unfortunately, were either, forced to learn music or were not persuaded that they or their children may have needed a better instrument. Good teacher pupil relations were equally as important of course. Many of us know the value of a good quality instrument, many more do not. (Phil Shayer founder established in the industry since 1995 and trained as a piano tuner and technician at the Leeds College of Music, Broadwood piano workshops trust UK, and head trustee in a benevolent arts foundation & teaching trust). As a very busy piano tuner, I visited many customers, who’s pianos were truly beyond having any practical purpose and yet still being used for practise, while there are some extremely good pianos available for very little cost. On the other hand, some people had incredible instruments that were not even being used at all’.
It is a well proven fact that immense value in childhood development is derived from the learning of a musical instrument. The Piano is No. 1!
The business model of 'Capp' is very simple and transparent. 'Best possible value for the least and most competitive price.' There is no costly retail premises and very little staff or overheads. Serving trade and now the public, the main office is run from Byron Bay and pianos are shipped nationally.
There is no government duty on the import of musical instruments to Australia!
